● About
Beau JohnstonBeau Johnston, also known as Bwck or Bowiick through social media plays with queer identity through colorful large scale acrylic paintings and flowing figurative sketches and drawings. In their art practice they explore themes of Mexican identity, loss of innocence, and relationships in their social life. Beau uses primarily acrylic paint, but also includes collage, colored pencils, and unique canvases in their pieces, which portray life through their lens and experiences. They use color to express emotion, survival, and other unique themes they wish to explore through art. Beau has won third place in the Linfield University Art Scholarship competition and worked in a studio in the NUMU of Los Gatos. They are currently earning a BA of studio art at Willamette University in Salem Oregon. When they aren't painting you can find them working part time as a Barista and enjoying the brief sun Oregon has to offer.
